Absenteeism in Workplace: Questionnaire Design

Objective: The objective of this study is to understand the reason behind increase in absenteeism amongst workers of a freight company called Swift. 

Method: The method used for this study is personnel research which is a systematic approach to re-examine and re-evaluate the matters of employees to solve their problems. A questionnaire survey using SurveyMonkey will be conducted to get an in-depth knowledge about any psychological/medical/social stress an employee is enduring. SurveyMonkey uses industry standards data storage and transmission. Survey data will be stored only on password protected computer. No identifying information like IP address, email ID, name, etc., will be collected. The survey will be completely anonymous. All individual answers will be presented in the form of a summary or key points. 

Purpose: The sole purpose of this study is to critically reflect on what results in an increase in absenteeism in the workplace. The aim is to increase engagement and satisfaction for the company's long term success. Another area of interest is to propose Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that helps employers provide: short-term counseling sessions, referral services, health and well-being programs, incentives and other corporate benefits. It is a strategy to help employees deal with issues outside if work which they inadvertently bring to the workplace.

6. Childcare
7. Sickness 
8. Adjustment issues with change
9. Bad ergonomic design if workplace.
10. Rigid work culture.
